Moving Services Portland Oregon
Who we are?:
We are a local family owned and operated (woman owned) moving and packing service. We are fairly small and plan to stay that way, so that we are able to maintain our level of customer service, customer care, and dedication to each client. Our team members are all part of our "family". We are very careful in who we hire. We do back ground checks, dmv/driving record checks (reviews as well), and I must feel safe with employee in my home before sending to yours. As the owner, a woman owned business in a primarily male dominated field I take my position very serious. I train each team member to be sensitive; to treat each person with respect. We are not prejudiced, racist, sexist, agist, or any other "ist". We are just people like you. People who want to give the same service we would like to Receive -- the basic kindergarten rule: treat others how you want to be Treated. I must include herewe are at the same time human, and not perfect, though we continue to thrive to be our very best.
What we do?:
First and foremost : we actually like what we do. We like serving people and the wonderful response we get from a job well done. (OK, we like tips too). Seriously though, we believe each person has a right to a safe, efficient move at a fair price. We believe each person should be offered a service where they will not be judged for what they own, how they live, or well...judged at all. They should just be moved with the best care and consideration possible. We want to eliminate the stereo types of movers and really Change the industry standards.
Why we do it?:
We offer a full service range of needs from packing entire households, or offices, to unpacking, and storage. Our storage is vaulted (crated) in temperature controlled environment; in a highly secure warehouse to avoid moisture, temperature changes, and theft. The units are set off the ground to avoid moisture, and flooding (like from the snow last year). We sell a variety of packing materials; anything we don't have we can get. Boxes, crates, paper, tape, bubble wrap, packing peanuts, markers/sharpies, mirror/art boxes, mattress boxes, wardrobe boxes, TV crates, overseas crating. Motorcycle crates, piano crates. China packing, and kitchen packing, as well as all household items. Free use of wardrobe boxes on local moves.
How did you get started?: My husband has been a mover for 17 years. He really loves his work. He would come home and tell me about the good, the bad, and fun and not so fun. It sounded interesting and exciting. He always wanted to own his own company so that he could take all the good things he had learned over the years and put them together to create a great moving company. I was a grad student at the time we started. I took my experience working in the field of social science, women studies, social work, and customer ervice and business skills and added them together with his skills to create the most unusual and unique moving company ever. Ours is a company that truly cares about the customer, the job, and the employees. We have morals, values, and ethics and we actually follow them. We actually follow the Kindergarden rule: treat others how you want to be treated.
